OAXACA...
Oaxaca City is a small, yet bustling metropolitan area, where time is touched by quality. Everything in the state appears to be created with artisanal craftsmanship. The distillers in the surrounding area seem more connected to the land and the natural elements than in many places, where the reliance on indigenous methods are not technically needed, but preferred. Both Mezcal and the many textiles created here are ancient practices that have been passed down by generations.
and I mean that in the most delicious possible way when speaking about the spirits, food, and textiles made in Oaxaca, Mexico. I realized this when visiting recently in February, 2020.

Is it the easiest way of creating? No, but there is something undeniably satisfying about the process of utilizing raw materials with perfectly trained intuition that can only be taught through years of human experience. During these difficult times, I am reminded that self-reliance is incredibly important and that the traditional ways of our ancestors can teach us not only patience, but also how to be resourceful.
