Standing Rock - DAPL
Title: "Silent Echoes: DAPL's Unfinished Story"
In the aftermath of Standing Rock's Indigenous resistance and political twists, the Lakota people find themselves at a crossroads with the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). Shortly after the pipeline was opened in 2017, a federal judge ruled against the pipeline, citing violations of treaty rights and environmental laws. The fight endures!
Six years of bureaucratic stalling led to a September 2023 Environmental Impact Statement, but with a catch. Energy Transfer Partners presented a report without conclusions, leaving DAPL's fate vulnerable to political winds once again. The current public comment period until Dec. 13 is a crucial opportunity to object to this flawed report and demand a valid environmental impact statement.
As a witness to this struggle, I share the untold stories from the ground, dispelling the misinformation. Standing Rock calls on us to join the battle. This isn't just about pipelines; it's a plea for justice, environmental responsibility, and the sanctity of water. Explore the images and narratives that follow, and let your voice be a ripple for change.
The DAPL story isn't over. Together, through our collective voices, we can shape a different ending to this chapter of history.
